As we age, every part of our body changes, including our intimate areas. This process can result in physical and mental changes that many women experience during menopause or after childbirth. Have you noticed any embarrassing, inconvenient, or undesirable changes in your intimate area as you've aged or after giving birth? Many women expect that their bodies will change over time, often not for the better. Symptoms like stress incontinence, vaginal dryness, and laxity can negatively impact self-confidence and quality of life. Previously, women often accepted these changes as inevitable signs of aging. However, CO2 Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation provides an effective alternative to traditional surgery. It helps women combat these symptoms and improve their intimate health and wellness.
What is Vaginal Rejuvenation?
Vaginal Rejuvenation using the Fractional Master™ CO2 fractional laser is a non-invasive, quick, and effective laser procedure used to rejuvenate the tissues of the vaginal canal to treat a variety of both benign medical conditions and aesthetic concerns. It primarily aims to improve symptoms such as vaginal laxity, dryness, urinary incontinence, and discomfort during intercourse.
Who Are the Best Candidates?
This laser rejuvenation procedure offers a fast, safe, and effective non-surgical treatment that is suitable for a variety of medical and cosmetic concerns/conditions of the vagina. Most of these conditions and concerns are caused by some very common changes to a woman’s body. The most common causes of female intimate complications include the normal aging process of the body, vaginal childbirth, multiple pregnancies, hormonal changes/fluctuations caused by menopause, hysterectomy, pregnancy/childbirth, certain types of cancers, etc.
If you suffer from any of the following indications or want to improve the functionality and feel of your intimate area, you may be a perfect candidate for laser vaginal rejuvenation.
How Does the CO2 Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation Procedure Work?
The vagina applicator is painlessly inserted into the vaginal canal to deliver CO2 laser energy to the vaginal wall tissue. The applicator is manually rotated 360° to evenly distribute the laser energy in ring-shaped microchannels. This process is repeated throughout the entire vaginal canal, stimulating tissue rejuvenation without damaging surrounding tissues.
The thermal energy causes existing collagen fibers to contract and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin fibers. This process also promotes the formation of new blood vessels, enhancing circulation and nutrient delivery to improve vaginal health and functionality.
The body's natural healing response to the laser’s micro-channels and heat brings growth factors, proteins, and platelets to the treated areas. These factors help form new, healthy tissue layers, replacing older, damaged ones. This rejuvenation improves blood flow and cell health, essential for optimal vaginal structure and function.
What Should You Expect From the Whole Treatment Procedure?
Before starting vaginal rejuvenation, it's crucial to have a recent OB/GYN visit with a healthy exam and pap smear within the last six months. This ensures there are no underlying pathologies needing treatment by a gynecologist. Once the patient is in healthy condition after confirmation, we evaluate the best treatment option for their concerns.
The CO2 laser resurfacing procedure involves inserting a CO2 laser probe, covered with a sterile sheath, into the vagina. The laser is activated as the probe is slowly removed, resurfacing the internal skin. Healing occurs over several days, and most patients tolerate the procedure well without anesthesia, with only minor complaints of warmth from the laser.
The treatment itself lasts 10-20 minutes and the experts consider it's very safe. While some studies indicate no downtime, we recommend three days of vaginal rest before and after the procedure, meaning no sexual activity for six days in total. There is no required additional downtime from work or exercise. Typically, a series of three treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, is recommended. Post-treatment, women often report significant improvements in symptoms such as vaginal burning, itching, dyspareunia (pain with sexual contact), and dysuria (pain with urination or incontinence).
CO2 laser treatment is more than just a safe, fast, non-invasive treatment to solve a multitude of ladies’ intimate conditions and concerns. It works to rejuvenate and restore a woman’s precious lady bits to their former glory for a huge confidence boost and a happier life! As we produced Fractional Master™, our mission is to continue exploring and leveraging such innovative solutions to improve women's health.
